Skill and Testing Skill Builder

The Scholarship for Excellence students must take the I-LEAP in the 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades . ( The LEAP takes place in the 4th and 8th grades). Prepration begins in Pre-K and contines each year.  Many of these same skills are accessed on the Terra Nova standarized test. The key to sucess is to drill, drill , drill these skills for mastery.

Work is bring done in school, but this is not enough. Parents often ask how to help their children. The State web site has wonderful resources. Please work with your child daily.  This is a requirement for all students , 1st through 7th grades.  Eighth graders going to public high schools need to use this site for preparation.

Student Resources---High Stakes Testing at the right

Pass and Newton are excellent and are available for every grade level and every subject.

Also practice tests and grade level expectations are provided for.

The fourth grade Terra Nova is very much like the LEAP test, including written responses and paragraph writing.  Students need plenty of practice i these areas.

Do the needful for your child.

The programs start with the 1st grade. You can begin working with your child now!
